Hi there, this should be resolved since a darker theme was implemented in a previous release.

  2. Create group of connections like in SourceTree in order to keep your connections window more clear

Allow to create a group of connections in order to keep the connections screen more clear. In the same way as SourceTree for instance. Top bonus, the ability to add color label to connection ;-)

  3. Server name in database/collection/document drop confirm boxes

When one wants to drop a database/collection/document, a confirm box shows which asks something like "Drop database 'example_database'?"

I would like to see the name of the server I try to make the operation in there too, so I'm sure I don't accidentally remove things from a live server when it should be in a develop or test server.

    Use case:
When I want to run tests on actual data, I copy a live db to a test environment. There I should be removing the db first to ensure an exact copy. When doing things fast, I would be happy…

  4. Show Json Results with folding

Showing results in JSON View mode can lead to confusion very fast for big documents. It would be very beneficial if you could show the JSON in a "foldable" way like in tree view.

  5. Simple search

Sometimes I want to search a certain UUID or a email-address.
With the Query Builder I can build a Query with only 6 clicks, but I always think it must be easier.

I suggest a simple Search field, which search the selected collection for a given String and return the entries.

  7. Document JSON Editor: Update only changed fields, do not overwrite the entire document

There should be an option when editing a JSON document to update only changed fields, so that parallel changes from other clients (eg, a sever application) will not be overwritten.

  8. table view - allow column order to be manually rearranged

we should be able to rearrange the columns in table view, possibly with drag and drop functionality, instead of having to rely on either "show keys in alphabetical order" or "show keys in natural order"

  9. Code formatter on shell

Have an action to format/lint code on the shell and a keyboard shortcut to go with it, i.e on IntelliJ it's CMD+Alt+L.

  10. Restore last working state

It would be cool if I could tick and option that remember the last working state, so when I restarted MongoChef all of my databases and tables got restored to last working view

  11. Wordwrap JSON please

Editing a long string of text inside a JSON object is hard since the text doesn't wrap and is in one line. Version 2.0.4 Windows

Hi there, as of 2020.6.0 we’ve redesigned the UI and we hope you enjoy the updated look and feel.

  13. Allow previous queries to be edited in Query Builder

One suggestion: when pulling up a Query from the History, it would be nice to be able to populate the Query Builder with the query so that the query can be further refined using the Query Builder.

Maybe I am missing it, but this feature of editing a previous query in the Query Builder does not seem to be available.

  14. MongoChef: Remember last choice of options for "Follow reference" feature.

Store by the database + field path pair. Currently is is remembered only until you close the tab.

  15. Connection name included in tab title or server info

Currently when I open a collection in a given server for analysis, the tab only shows the collection name without any indication of the connection used. This can be tricky if I have similarly named collections in multiple databases to which I have an open connection. The tab top part shows the server IP, which helps, but I’d personally prefer the connection name. Maybe there could be some option to include connection name in tab name or replace the IP with the name?

  16. easier way to reverse sort the query

typing {_id:-1} into the sort box is painful and annoying. you need a single-click that will change the sort order of the query. also, you need a preferences setting that lets me specify that I want reverse sort by default.

  19. Keep track of unsaved tabs in case of application/os crash

Many applications (notepad++, atom, word, etc.) keep track of tabs/files you have open, even if you haven't saved them. This way, if there is an OS or Application failure, you can pick up where you left off. I've had this happen a few times and have lost a bit of work because of this.

  20. Show user current operations

    Hi,

The current operations monitor only allow admin to see operations.

Since Mongo 3.2.9, there is an option to see own user operations without any permission : "$ownOps".

    See :

    https://docs.mongodb.com/manual/reference/method/db.currentOp/

That would be cool if the current operations fallback to user own operations if he doesn't have the admin permission.
