UI & Design Improvments
Love Studio 3T, but to be totally honest it looks like an application out of the 90's. Visually, this is not a pretty app. I would love a modern look & a cleaner design. Visual Studio Code vs WebStorm is a great example of a modern vs old looking app. Please, please, please put more work into the design of this app.

Create group of connections like in SourceTree in order to keep your connections window more clear
Allow to create a group of connections in order to keep the connections screen more clear. In the same way as SourceTree for instance. Top bonus, the ability to add color label to connection ;-)

Show all fields in GridFS documents
MongoChef makes the same mistake as other popular GUIs in thinking that GridFS documents just contain a fixed set of fields. However, this is patently false; GridFS documents can contain arbitrary fields just like any other document but MongoChef makes absolutely no provision for displaying these.

inline patch upgrade
I love the fact you're churning out new versions as fast as you are, but i'd really like a more granual update: i.e. just downloading an inline patch / update for the existing application without having to go the site, download the full product etc...
Thanks!

Redesign the application with a more modern look and feel
Preferably, the UI would look native to that users operating system

Use Standard Tab Switching Shortcut
I'd really prefer if you use a more standard shortcut key combo for tab switching. Current shortcut is really weird on a MacBook. LOL
Previous tab: cmd + {
Next tab: cmd + }Terminal, Safari, Chrome, TextMate, everyone does this. You know we engineers work a lot on the MacBook. PLEASE!
Otherwise, loving the app. I'm buying after the trial!

We added user management it the 1.9.3 release of 3T MongoChef -
offer the choice to "overwrite existing documents with same id" when exporting to another collection
Or a checkbox to drop the target collection before importing into it?
Why? I would think the most common use-case for exporting into another collection is to create a copy of the source collection, not to merge the source documents into the target.6 votesThis has been released with MongoChef 2.1.0

Bring back the colors in the connection pane
Since one of the recent updates the coloring in the connection pane on the right disappeared. We really liked this feature as this was perfect to distinct between the test and production environments and read only and write permissions.

macOS icon
Change your icon on macOS. It's not even rounded. It sucks.

copy path feature
I use Robo3T as well and I can copy a field's absolute path as a option on right-click-popup-memu. But in Studio 3T, I haven't found it. I'd like to have that option. Thanks.
5 votesHi – this is available, as right-click Copy > Copy Field Path. We hope this helps.

Test connection fails on replica Atlas
But the actual connection works
ERROR - Mongo Server error (MongoQueryException): Query failed with error code 8000 and error message 'cannot do raw queries on admin in atlas' on server cluster0-shard-00-00-iervr.mongodb.net:27017

In tree view, double clicking (anywhere) on row expands record
In addition to the small triangle for expanding a document, I'd like to be able to click on the row (as it worked in previous generations of the product). This is easier to do, plus it's consistent with double clicking anywhere on the collection name to invoke an intuitive action.

Automatically open Query Builder panel when field dragged & dropped on Query Builder button
Currently, in 4.5.5, you first have to click on the Query Builder button to open the Query Builder panel on the right, then drag & drop a field on to the query section of the panel. Rather than this multi-step operation, dragging a field on to the Query Builder button should automatically open the Query Builder panel and populate the Query field.
5 votesHi, this will be available in 2021.9 – we hope you try this out and enjoy it!

Make it possible to define a trusted self-signed SSL certificate for a connection
It would be very useful to be able to specify the self-signed SSL certificate that is valid for a certain connection. We use Compose MongoDB hosting and they generate self-signed certificates and now I can only check the "Accept seld-signed SSL certificates" to use it. This allows for Man-In-The-Middle attacks.

Allow recovering of lost connection
I have a bunch of IntelliShells open that I am working with. For some reason my network has a temporary issue. The connection is lost. Now all those windows are useless since they can no longer execute.
I have to stop, save my work, or create a new connection and "migrate" queries from one window into new window.
If connection dies, attempt to re-connect when "execute" button is pressed.
