Better Shortcuts and Settings for Closing Tabs
During data analysis over many DBs and many collections I open up many many tabs. When I want to consolidate/close many of these little experiments, the experience is clunky.
I hit CMD-W to close the tab -- it first needs to close all the results tabs first, then when those are all closed it closes the main tab. However, when I do this it always prompts whether I want to save my work or not. I then MUST click on the no button to close it.
For 5 main tabs with 5 results windows in each, it means i have to press CMD-W 30 times and click the No 5 times when I know I just want to close specific main windows. I could also click on the main tab X button, but then I have to click on the No button after.
Couple things could fix this / help:
- Give me a setting that makes CMD-W or something else close the main tab instead of having to close each results tab before CMD-W will actually close the main tab
- Give me a setting that makes CMD-W always close without saving. Perhaps this could only affect queries where you don't have a file saved for it. Thus, these are seemingly "throwaway" queries whereas ones where you have a file saved you might want to prompt users to they can be reminded to save their work.
The work here combined with my other reported issue about being able to open multiple files would make Studio 3T incredibly fast to navigate around and do what you want without fighting the UI.
