comment field on indexes
Many indexes are created for a single query. We have to note this relation somewhere. In my project, we use a Google Sheet, but it would be so much better to have it next to the index.

Newer MongoDB versions now support doing this directly in the Aggregate function.

merge two collections data in one resultset
I have two collections and both collections has same number of columns. and I want to find some documents as a result from both collections in ascending order but I can't use join because I don't have any match criteria.
Is there any solution which studio 3T can provide me ?5 votes -
Protect selected collections from being dropped
Using 3T from few months, very handy. Thank you.
Could you add an option to protect collections from being dropped? Instead of global read-only it would help if we can pick and choose which collection should be "Protected".
For each collection below option would be nice:
"Protect -> From Writes"
"Protect -> From Deletes"

find({}) v.s. deleteMany({})
find({}) seems like a find anything, but {} is. an empty set, so find an empty set give you everything. This is weird. It will be even worse when you use it in deleteMany({}), because you actually drop a collection. This is a bad idea from the beginning.
1 voteHi – this is built into MongoDB functionality and is not specific to our tool. It is worth considering how it is used, as you have pointed out.

Change your name back to MongoChef
I have abotu 5 other apps with the word 'Studio' in them. 'MongoChef' was easier to search for in Windows searchbox and not have to sift through Android Studio and various Visual Studio items.

Sort numbers as numbers
Numbers are sorted like strings, i.e. 10.0 comes before 2.0...
So, when sorting, check if all values seem to be numbers (or blanks), and then sort the number way.
1 voteAs mentioned in the comments, MongoChef currently follows the sort order of MongoDB here. For now, we will not change this but will continue to monitor votes for this ticket and may revise in the future

allow executing sql queries against mongodb
Use the open source SlamEngine project (github.com/slamdata/slamengine) to allow users to execute arbitrary SQL against their MongoDB databases.
2 votesAt the moment we are focusing on building the best GUI for MongoDB and supporting all core MongoDB features first. But we might look into including other query languages in the future.
