fix app being ugly and slow UI
UI elements are slow to respond (animation when opening a tree for example) and the UI in general is horrendous. Excellent functionality however...
3 votesHi Jordan, we’ve not experienced this issue of slowness of animations.

inline patch upgrade
I love the fact you're churning out new versions as fast as you are, but i'd really like a more granual update: i.e. just downloading an inline patch / update for the existing application without having to go the site, download the full product etc...
Thanks!

Update your compiled version of the OpenSSL library
We just hardened the jumpboxes we use to access our MongoDBs (we do not access them directly - we SSH to a server and then connect via a local MongoS).
The version on our server is now newer than the version compiled into the MongoChef client. As a result, the key exchange never completes and we cannot make a connection.

Add export for aggregate queries
The new aggregate query support is excellent but I was very disappointed that we cannot export the result (particularly to csv but support for all the formats available for standard queries would be great).

Intellishell in windows UTF8 character problem
Hello!
I am trying to insert a document with Greek UTF8 characters:
db.philosophy.insert({"saying" : "Χρόνου φείδου", "age" : 2134)})
and then query it: db.philosophy.find({"saying" : "Χρόνου φείδου"})
The document is saved but some characters are displayed with question marks and the query returns no results.
Details:
* MongoChef 3.0.3
* Windows 7 64bit
* mongo shell from MongoDB 3.0.6 64bit
* Database: MongoDB 3.0.6 64bitThanks,
Simon2 votesPlease upgrade to MongoChef 4.1.0. In 4.1.0 we have updated the way we handle UTF8 characters in the shell.

Support advanced connection options (SSL, etc)
I would like to be able to specify SSL options, along with the other optional flags/parameters available to the normal mongo shell
4 votesAllowed to set SSH/SSL options for Connections (Connection Manager)

Make it possible to define a trusted self-signed SSL certificate for a connection
It would be very useful to be able to specify the self-signed SSL certificate that is valid for a certain connection. We use Compose MongoDB hosting and they generate self-signed certificates and now I can only check the "Accept seld-signed SSL certificates" to use it. This allows for Man-In-The-Middle attacks.

aggregate - remove focus from dropdown in stage tabs
When using aggregate and switching between stages:
It is really annoying when I switch to a stage and scroll to see the code - instead, it rotates the drop-down and deletes my code for that stage.
Please don't focus on the drop-down. Change the focus order...
Also it would be nice if you don't clear the code until I change the type of command. Now it clears even if I only click on the drop down even if I select the same command.
1 voteWe have fixed this in MongoChef 3.0.3

Counting Usability
When I count documents, I use the dropdown next to the query input and select run count(...). In the case I would just count again I would like to press the play button next to the dropdown, but this is always a find(...). Why don't you put the last action to the play button?

Auto Reconnect
Please auto-reconnect the next time I try to re-query if DB is disconnected.
If DB is disconnected I have to close and restart mongo-chef, losing all my queries. It would be nice if gives me an option to reconnect even if the cursors are closed and I have the requery.

Fix the query input text boxes
When I run a long complex query with a long projection block, the query text block grows vertically while the projection block grows horizontally. As a result, the Sort text box shrinks down to zero width.
Note, the behavior is different if you load a historical query, or type in a new long query.

Copy DB to also create indexes
When copying a db also create it's indexes on the newly created db.
Or prompt on copy whether or not it should also create the indexes.

Server name in database/collection/document drop confirm boxes
When one wants to drop a database/collection/document, a confirm box shows which asks something like "Drop database 'example_database'?"
I would like to see the name of the server I try to make the operation in there too, so I'm sure I don't accidentally remove things from a live server when it should be in a develop or test server.
Use case:
When I want to run tests on actual data, I copy a live db to a test environment. There I should be removing the db first to ensure an exact copy. When doing things fast, I would be happy…35 votesThanks for the suggestion and all the votes.
